growing with my art

I always chose to do art in school for as long as I can remember, but I could never keep up with the other kids in my class. They could just look at their paper and instantly make a perfect piece of art appear for every assignment. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I learned to stop comparing my art to other’s, and a natural flow too over.

I believe it was through my discovery of not comparing myself physically to others, that I also learned to do this with my art. Why would I want to imitate others, when the work I can do through my own uniqueness would be so different? Individuality is so highly valued throughout the world; which is why I got into tattooing. We don’t all have to look the same - and neither does our art!

I believe people collect art because it often reminds them of something they value.
